​LIEUTENANT COLONEL (U) PENGIRAN MOHAMED KHAIRUL ARIFIN BIN PENGIRAN HAJI MOHAMAD SALLEH

Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Mohamed Khairul Arifin bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad Salleh enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 24 January 2000 and later commissioned as a Lieutenant on the 19 July 2001 after graduating from Royal Air Force (RAF) Cranwell, United Kingdom. ​​

Beginning of his career, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Mohamed Khairul Arifin served in the Logistics Wing (now known as No. 5 Wing) as the Engineering Officer for the Pilatus PC7 MkII and Bell 206B. He later moved on to different squadrons, working on the Bell 212 and Bolkow 105 aircraft until 2010. In February 2010 until October 2011, he was appointed as the Officer Commanding for 65 Squadron or Air Technical Training School (now known as No. 75 Squadron) in the Training Wing. In 2013, he returned to Logistics Wing and held the Senior Engineering Officer (SEngO) and Officer Commanding of Engineering Support Flight (ESF) posts. In July 2017, he was appointed as the Staff Officer Grade 1 for Maintenance Department in the Directorate of Logistics, Ministry of Defence. In September 2020, he was later entrusted as the Staff Officer Grade 1 for Personnel in the Directorate of Personnel, Ministry of Defence. In December 2022, he returned to the Royal Brunei Air Force and took command as the Commanding Officer of No. 5 Wing or Maintenance Wing.

Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Mohamed Khairul Arifin is an engineer by trade, looking after military aircraft and managing aircraft technicians. He hold a Bachelor Engineering (Honours) degree since 1999 and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management (HRM) since 2013, from the United Kingdom. Later in 2016, he completed his Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Development (HRD) and became an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Assoc CIPD) from the United Kingdom.

Besides attending symposiums and participating in military exercises, he also attended both local and overseas courses. His professional military education includes Basic Manpower course, Engineering Specialist Training (EST), Intermediate Logistics Management course (ILMC), International Aviation Safety Officer (IASO) course and Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO).

He is married to Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Norinda binti Hj Tengah and blessed with a daughter and two sons. He likes to exercise and can be seen running and going to the gymnasium weekly.
