DEFENCE ACADEMY ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES CELEBRATE 11TH ANNIVERSARY

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 25 November 2021 – The Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) celebrated its 11th anniversary today at the Auditorium Hall, DA RBAF, following the government's new COVID-19 transition phase guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.


Attending as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Acting Commandant of the DA RBAF. Also present were Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Khairul Anuar bin Abdullah, RBN, Chairman of the DA RBAF 11th anniversary, and officers, military as well as civilian personnel.

The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and was followed by the Acting Commandant's speech. In his remarks, he reflected on the DA RBAF's journey and achievements over the past 11 years since its inception and the way forward. He noted that the DA RBAF has effectively conducted training and courses to face the current challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic by embracing the digital technology capabilities that reflect the academy's capacity for adaptation and resilience in adopting the new normal.

He also hopes that the DA RBAF will continue to work harder to achieve the academy's vision and mission to become a 'World Class Professional Military Academic Institution' and realise the DA RBAF's Strategic Plan 2035, while accepting changes to the new normal. He stressed the importance of training and education as essential factors in building capable, well-prepared and effective armed forces as outlined in the 2021 Defence White Paper. Additionally, he also encouraged all DA RBAF personnel to remain engaged in developing new strategies in adapting to current and future circumstances. 

He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the DA RBAF personnel who have served and are now serving in support of the government's whole-of-nation approach to contain the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic effectively and commended them for their unwavering courage, devotion, and self-sacrifice.

The ceremony then saw a presentation of the annual recognition awards to personnel who had displayed excellent performance in their duties and made outstanding contributions to the organisation for 2021. For the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers category, the award was given to Staff Sergeant Mohammad Royzi bin Rosli, while for the Junior Non-Commissioned Officers category, the award was given to Lance Corporal Mohammad Azreen bin Aspar.

The ceremony proceeded with videos presentations that showcased DA RBAF's past activities and achievements and officiating of new names for five roads within the DA RBAF Camp. The ceremony then concluded with the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran by the Defence Academy's Religious Teacher, Ustaz Abdul Nasir bin Hassan. 





SAMBUTAN HARI ULANG TAHUN AKADEMI PERTAHANAN YANG KE-11

TANAH JAMBU, Khamis 25 November 2021 – Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (AP ABDB) telah meraikan Sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun yang ke-11 pada hari ini di Dewan Auditorium, AP ABDB mengikut garis pandu Fasa Peralihan dan Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) seperti yang ditetapkan.

Hadir selaku Tetamu kehormat di majlis ini ialah Leftenan Kolonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Pemangku Komandan AP ABDB. Turut hadir ialah Pengerusi Majlis Sambutan HUT AP ABDB ke-11 iaitu Leftenan Komander Mohammad Khairul Anuar bin Abdullah, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), pegawai-pegawai dan anggota-anggota tentera dan awam AP ABDB. 

Acara dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan diikuti dengan ucapan Pemangku Komandan. Dalam ucapannya, beliau mengimbas kembali perjalanan dan pencapaian akademi itu di sepanjang 11 tahun sejak penubuhannya, serta perancangan masa hadapan AP ABDB. Beliau juga menyatakan bahawa AP ABDB telah mengendalikan latihan dan kursus dengan efektif dalam menghadapi cabaran semasa penularan wabak COVID-19 dengan menggunakan keupayaan teknologi digital yang menggambarkan kemampuan AP ABDB untuk mengadaptasi dan berdaya tahan pada sepanjang fasa norma baharu.

Beliau turut berharap AP ABDB akan terus berusaha dengan lebih tekun dalam mencapai visi dan misi akademi untuk menjadi sebuah ‘Institusi Pendidikan Profesional Ketenteraan Yang Bertaraf Dunia’ serta merealisasikan Perancangan Strategik AP ABDB 2035, di samping menerima perubahan norma baharu. Beliau menekankan kepentingan latihan dan pendidikan sebagai faktor penting dalam membina angkatan tentera yang berkemampuan, bersiap siaga dan efektif sepertimana yang dinyatakan di dalam Kertas Putih Pertahanan 2021. Sebagai tambahan, beliau turut menggalakkan seluruh anggota AP ABDB untuk terus giat aktif dalam memperkembangkan strategi-strategi baru dalam mengadaptasikan kepada keadaan semasa dan masa hadapan.

Beliau juga turut mengambil kesempatan ini untuk menyampaikan penghargaannya kepada anggota-anggota AP ABDB telah berkhidmat dan sedang berkhidmat untuk sama-sama menyokong pendekatan Whole-of-Government dalam menangani gelombang kedua wabak COVID-19 dengan efektif dan memuji keberanian, dedikasi dan pengorbanan semua anggota. 

Majlis tersebut diteruskan dengan penyampaian anugerah penghargaan tahunan kepada anggota-anggota yang mempamerkan prestasi yang cemerlang dan menyalurkan sumbangan besar kepada organisasi pada tahun 2021. Bagi kategori Pegawai Tidak Bertauliah Kanan Terbaik, anugerah ini diberikan kepada Staf Sarjan Mohammad Royzi bin Rosli, manakala Lans Korperal Mohammad Azreen bin Aspar menerima anugerah bagi kategori Pegawai Tidak Bertauliah Rendah Terbaik. 

Majlis kemudian diteruskan dengan persembahan klip video yang menayangkan aktitviti dan pencapaian AP ABDB serta perasmian lima nama jalan baharu di Perkhemahan AP ABDB. Majlis diakhiri dengan bacaan doa kesyukuran oleh Ustaz Abdul Nasir bin Hassan, Guru Agama AP ABDB.
