VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE WEBINAR BETWEEN PERFORMANCE OPTIMISATION CENTRE AND AUSTRALIAN DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 27 April 2021 – A professional exchange session between the Performance Optimisation Centre (POC), Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Australian Department of Defence was held virtually at the Australian High Commission Office, Jalan Pemancha.

The webinar, hosted by Lieutenant Colonel Dan Hauser, Australia’s Defence Adviser and Lieutenant Colonel Omar Shariff bin Haji Hidop, Staff Officer Grade 1, as POC’s lead representative, marks the first bilateral science and technology engagement between both organisations in areas relating to human performance research and development in the field of science and technology.

Also present were POC’s officers and specialists, specifically from the Human Performance Lab, Sports Medicine Clinic and Soldiers’ Fitness Management Group.

The webinar was intended to share information and insight between POC and their counterparts in the Australian Department of Defence, specifically the Human Performance unit from Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Australian Army Dismounted Combat Program and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Physical Training School. This is in light of the RBAF and ADF shared purpose in optimising the performance and well being of their human resources.

The webinar was divided into two sessions: Australian DSTG’s human performance research program and thermal load, ADF’s army organisational efforts for their dismounted combat program, including their physical employment standards and future physical performance and resilience projects were shared. Each session was followed by discussions on related matters, including the way forward, sharing of best practices and opportunities for further engagement or research collaborations between both departments.



SESI PERTUKARAN PROFESIONAL DIANTARA PUSAT OPTIMA KECERGASAN TENTERA DAN AUSTRALIAN DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE SECARA DALAM TALIAN

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Selasa, 27 April 2021 – Sesi webinar pertukaran profesional di antara pihak Pusat Optima Kecergasan Tentera (POKT), Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Australian Department of Defence telah berlangsung secara dalam talian di Pejabat Suruhanjaya Tinggi Australia, Jalan Pemancha.

Sesi webinar yang dianjurkan oleh Leftenan Kolonel Dan Hauser, Penasihat Pertahanan Australia dan Leftenan Kolonel Omar Shariff bin Haji Hidop, Pegawai Turus POKT ini merupakan hubungan dua hala dalam bidang sains dan teknologi yang pertama di antara kedua-dua organisasi dari segi penyelidikan dan pembangunan prestasi insan dalam bidang sains dan teknologi.

Turut hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai dan pakar-pakar POKT dari Makmal Prestasi Insan, Klinik Perubatan Sukan dan Kumpulan Pengurusan Kecergasan Tentera.

Tujuan utama webinar ini adalah untuk mengungsikan gambaran dan sumbangan usaha dua hala di antara POKT dan pihak Pertahanan Australia yang terdiri daripada Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Australian Army Dismounted Combat Program dan Australian Defence Force (ADF) Physical Training School selaras dengan tujuan bersama kedua-dua organisasi, ABDB dan Pertahanan Australia, dalam meningkatkan dan memberikan kesan yang optimum kepada prestasi, perkembangan dan kesejahteraan anggota-anggota tentera.

Webinar tersebut telah dibahagikan kepada dua sesi di mana pembentangan topik-topik telah dikongsi oleh pihak Pertahanan Australia seperti program kaji selidik prestasi insan dan thermal load yang sedang dikendalikan oleh DSTG, usaha-usaha Pertahanan Australia bagi program pengangkutan muatan, dasar-dasar ujian employment standards dan kaji selidik yang meliputi prestasi fizikal dan ketahanan jasmani. Setiap sesi diikuti dengan sesi perbincangan mengenai peluang bagi kedua-dua pihak untuk terus bekerjasama dari segi kaji selidik dan perkongsian best practices di masa akan datang.
