Bismillahirahman hirahim.

Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Mustapa bin Haji Sirat, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence, Honorable Head of Delegations, Distinguish Guest, Senior Officers, Ladies and Gentlemen. 

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah hiwabarakatuh and a very good evening,

First of all, on behalf of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mej Gen Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awg Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces I would like to convey his apology for not being able to attend this auspicious occasion tonight.

Once and foremost, let me take this opportunity to greet all the participating contingents ‘Selamat Datang’ and welcome to Brunei Darussalam. I am very honoured to be here this evening with the presence of such great musicians who have come from twelve different countries and Armed Forces to share together this joyous and grand occasion to celebrate the 60th Birthday Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam which will capture the moment of cooperation amongst militaries of multi-nations through music and colorful parades as a foundation towards peace and in harmony.

Your presences now in Negara Brunei Darussalam are not only to participate in a Brunei Darussalam International Tattoo 2006 or BIT 2006 but also in joining in this colourful celebration with the people of Brunei Darussalam in conjunction with His Majesty’s 60th Birthday.

I hope you all have had a pleasant journey from your respective countries, and I am sure the BIT 2006 Organising Committee have made all necessary arrangements to ensure you have a comfortable stay in Brunei Darussalam.

Honorable and Distinguished Guest, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the 5th tattoo being held in Brunei Darussalam. The last such event was conducted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces was in 1992 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Coronation of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Brunei International Tattoo 2006 has managed to assemble 13 nations with 1291 participants. This figure is by far, is one of the biggest in the world that has join together to foster a grand colorful display of Military performance. Therefore, I am happy to announce you for being part of the record as the possible biggest Tattoo in this region.
 
Honorable and Distinguished Guest, Ladies and Gentlemen, I know that your time in Brunei Darussalam is very limited with your tight schedule and rehearsals,  but I do hope you take this valuable opportunity to visit Brunei Darussalam’s places of interest, enjoy the beautiful scenery especially Kampong Ayer and have the chance to taste Brunei Darussalam’s local delicacies. Please do enjoy your stay in Brunei Darussalam and I wish you all the best in this upcoming Tattoo. We hope Brunei Darussalam International Tattoo 2006 will create new experience and new friendship to be borne forever among us and especially to all the participant contingents among you.

I wish to convey my personnel thanks to all participants and committee especially the international contingents from the 12 countries for their willingness to participate and make the outmost effort to produce an excellence performance in this coming days. Lastly, I on behalf of BIT 2006 organizing committee we wish you all a pleasant stay.
