By Wafi Jaafar

Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, 30th July 2006 – The Brunei Darussalam Photographic Society is among one of the important party involved with the BIT 2006. Being recognized since earlier on, their contributions of beautifully captured images of memorable events are kept in the archives used as important graphic resource as well as for future references.

Considering it was on short notice, we had the opportunity to interview the President of the Brunei Darussalam Photographic Society (BDPS), Haji Mohd. Yusof bin Mohd. Yassin. On behalf on the society, the BDPS President thanked the Organising Committee of BIT 2006 for this honorable opportunity to have hands on role in capturing history. He stated that there are at least forty selected official photographers for BIT 2006 who have been engaged since the very beginning, including the roadshows, up to the very last show.

Three months before the debut of the Tattoo, the Photographic Society has been engaged under the supervision of the Marketing Sub-Committee. One of their tasks was to produce an album in memoirs of the Tattoo. The challenge was for them to complete the task immediately after the final show. This special album will be dedicated to all the delegations. Likewise, their archive is also accessible for various uses such as photograph resource for the newsletter and other publications throughout the BIT 2006.

With another two nights to go, more of their personnel are deployed on the ground, enthusiastic and tirelessly working like professionals.
