Sunday 7 Sept - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces
Cooperatives with Limited Liability, KOWIRA, held
an appreciation ceremony for its staff yesterday
by presenting consolation prizes at RBAF Golf Club,
Berakas Garrison.
Present at the event was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu
Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang
Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof as the Chairman of the Board
of Directors of KOWIRA.
The ceremony was aimed at presenting consolation
contribution to KOWIRA staff and certificates of
appreciation to grocery shops that attained excellent
achievements in their annual sales.
The congregation also took the opportunity during
the holy month of Ramadhan with bertahlil and recital
of Doa Arwah for former staff of the KOWIRA Cooperative
who had passed away.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the
board of directors of KOWIRA, consisting of RBAF
commandants, directors and deputy commandants.
KOWIRA General Manager in his speech said the ceremony
was a special event as this was the first time such
an event was held since KOWIRA was established some
10 years ago.
He added that the event was aimed at giving consolation
prizes - purchase vouchers at grocery centres belonging
to KOWIRA. The event was also to enable the board
members to interact with the staff of the KOWIRA
cooperative.
During the event, the management also awarded certificates
to excellent shops for 2003, bonus gifts for 38
workers from 2001-2005 and consolation certificates
for 48 staff that began their work between 2006
and 2007.
