Kuala Belait, Monday 27 Aug 2007 - Third Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (3Bn RBLF) for the first time celebrated Nisfu Syaaban 1427 Hijrah at its new camp at Kampong Lumut in Belait District this afternoon. Chief Guest during the event was the Commander of the RBLF Colonel Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu.

For the last 13 years, 3Bn RBLF was located at Penanjong Garrison in Tutong District. 21st June 2007, marks the historic deployment (or relocation) of 3Bn RBLF from Penanjong Garrison to Lumut Camp. This battalion was formed during the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 33rd Anniversary on the 31st May 1994.

Among infrastructures completed at present are Battalion Headquarters, Company offices, Surau, Bachelor's Quarters, Quarter Master, Officers' Mess, Warrant Officer/Staff Sergeant and Sergeant Mess, Dining hall and Corporal Club. While other infrastructures which are still in progress are the Sports Complex, Transport Office, Signals Platoon, Fire and Rescue Section, Light Aid Detachment, Pipe and Band Section, Housings section, Married Quarters and Guard house.

The religious gathering began with the recital of Al-Quran and followed by mass Maghrib prayer. Recital of Surah Yaasin and a mass Maghrib prayer which was followed by the Isyak prayers at the end of the event. Also present were RBLF senior officers and more than 300 personnel from 3Bn RBLF.

Similar celebrations were also held at Bolkiah Garrison, Berakas Garrison, Muara Naval Base, Penanjong Garrison, Pulau Baru-Baru and Bangar Camp. In Bolkiah Garrison, the Chief Guest was the Commander of RBAF Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof. Also present were the Acting Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence Dato Paduka Haji Rashid bin Haji Abd Rahman and senior officers from Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
