PENANJONG, Friday 26 Oct 2007 - A total of 139 Male Recruits including potential Officer Cadets of the 133rd Intake has concluded their six-month basic military training at the Parade Square of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garrison. The Guest of Honour receiving the General Salute was the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education Dato Paduka Haji Sheikh Adnan bin Sheikh Mohamed. Present at the parade were the Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbin bin Hj Md Yussof, Unit Commanders and Commandants, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks of the RBAF as well as parents, family members and relatives of the recruits.

The Guest of Honour was also honoured to present awards to the Best Sergeant Platoon 11562 Sgt Abdul Rahman bin Haji Kaling; the Best Instructor 14994 LCpl Daniel bin Kunchil and the Overall Best Recruit 18323 Rec Muhammad Sofian bin Ismail. Best in M16 A2 18316 Rec Mohd Adip bin Awg Sawal; Best in Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle (HBAR) 18352 Rec Muhd Nur Fadhli bin Awg Hj Kamis and Best in Physical Training 18312 Rek Mohd Aizuddin bin Hj Serudin @ Sanif.

The Passing Out Parade was then followed by the Rank Insignia Appointment Award Ceremony to seven (7) potential Officer Cadets held at the Penanjong Garrison Officers' Mess. They were OCdt 18293 Mohd Khairol Mahdi bin Haji Sahri, OCdt 18294 Ak Mohd Ashikin bin Pg Hj Serpudin, OCdt 18296 Hj Mohammad bin Hj Ahmad, OCdt 18297 Hj Ilhamdi bin Hj Md Dali, OCdt 18298 Ak Md Fathi bin Pg Hj Mohamad, OCdt 18299 Haji Hazimin bin Haji Abdullah dan OCdt 18300 Mohamad Azmi bin Hj Afflon. Whereas one of the Officer Cadet, 18295 Ak Hj Md Syahmi bin Pg Hj Rajid has already started his officer cadet training on 20 October 2007. The rank insignia appointment awards were presented by the Commander of RBAF in the presence of Unit Commanders, Commandant of Support Services RBAF, Officers and family members of the Cadet Officers.

Meanwhile the Basic Military Training Closing Ceremony will be held this evening at the Training Institute Dining Hall in Penanjong Garrison and will be attended by the Chief Guest, Commandant of TI RBAF, Colonel Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin who will officially close the Basic Military Training of Male Recruits of the 133rd Intake.
