RBAF Trio For UK Military College

Penanjong, Friday 24 August 2007 - Three personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces selected under the military's Further and Higher Learning Scheme will be continuing their A Level studies at the Welbeck Defence College in United Kingdom. A signing ceremony was held yesterday at the RBAF Training Institute between the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces with the three selected personnel: 17450 Sid Daniel Tanggiling, 17456 Sid Mohd Nabil bin Jalil dan 18433 Sld Amirul Adini Haji Amir Abas.

Representing the Defence Ministry and the RBAF was Colonel Aminuddin Ihsan bin POKSM DSP Hj Abidin, Commandant of the RBAF Training Institute, who was also chief guest at the event. Also present were senior officers of the RBAF and parents of the three personnel. This is the second nomination ever held with the first one implemented in 2005.

The chief guest Colonel Aminuddin congratulated those who have been nominated and called on the three personnel to reach for an excellent achievement, academically as well as in co-curricular activities. The exposure given at the Military Academy is one of the initiatives to ensure that RBAF manpower is knowledgeable, skilled and talented as stated in the updated Defence White Paper 2007.

He added that the Welbeck Defence College is a prestigious institution which combines academic learning and military training.
