Lumut Camp Celebrate Israk Mikraj 1428H

Lumut Camp, Monday 20 August 2007 - Ceremony to mark the Israk Mikraj 1428H Hijrah celebration for the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) continues at Lumut Camp. Last Friday, the ceremony was held at the Surau of Lumut Camp with the attendance from personnel and staff of 3rd Battalion Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF). Previously, six similar events were also held at various military garrisons and camps. However this is the first time such event being organise at this camp since they move in early June 2007.

The chief guest at this ceremony was Acting Commander of RBLF Yang Mulia Colonel Haji Awg Abu Bakar bin Hj Awg Hassan. Also in attendance were senior officers and officers from Ministry of Defence and other services within RBAF.

The event was presented with a religious talk on the significance of Israk Mikraj by a guest speaker from, Yang Mulia Ustaz Hj Mail bin Besar from Pusat Dakwah Islamiah. The ceremony end with the mass Asar prayer.

This ceremony among others aimed to reminisce the history of Israk Mikraj during the time of Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. and at the same time to strengthen closer ties among the RBAF community who work and reside within that camp.
