
RIMBA,
Monday 2 July 2007- The 'SMART CRAFT' Team from
the Directorate of Administration and Manpower came
in first place in the Quality Control Circle convention
(Konvensyen Kumpulan Kerja Cemerlang - KKC) at the
Ministry of Defence level held this morning at the
Civil Service Institute (IPA) in Rimba.
The SMART CRAFT team began conducting their project
on 17 May 2006. The topic of their project was 'The
lack of systematic process in receiving, maintenance,
repair and delivery of speedboat engines'. Their
mission is to upgrade the leadership in realizing
the productivity and effectiveness of personnel
towards the required sound quality.
The
day also saw three other teams competing and presenting
their project materials - team MASA who was the
first runner-up presented their project entitled
'Handling of access overtime claim from the standard
rate of measures.' The second runner-up was 3K with
their topic 'Delay in releasing offer for approved
project' and fourth place was CEKAP, presented their
paper entitled 'Non-systematic receipt of correspondences
/ letters.'
The purpose of this convention is to choose the
winning team to represent the ministry at the national
level of the KKC final competition which will be
held on August 14 commemorating the 14th Civil Service
Day.
The
guest of honour at this convention was the Permanent
Secretary of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa
bin Haji Sirat, who later presented winning prizes
and certificates of participation to the teams.
The ceremony began with the recital of 'Doa Selamat'
by a religious officer of the Ministry of Defence.
This was followed by an opening remarks by the Director
of Administration and Manpower who was also Chairman
of the KKC Convention for Ministry of Defence level
for 2007.
Also present at the convention were the Deputy Permanent
Secretary of Defence, Civilian Directors, Senior
Officers, Officers and personnel from the Ministry
of Defence and other invited guests.
