Penanjong Garrison, Friday, 17 August 2007 - Another ceremony to mark the Israk Mikraj 1428H Hijrah celebration for the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) continues at Penanjong Garrison. Last Friday, the ceremony was held at the Surau of Penanjong Garrison with the attendance of more than 500 personnel. Previously, four similar events were also held at various military garrisons and camps.

The chief guest at this ceremony was Commandant of the Training Institute RBAF Yang Mulia Colonel Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin. Also in attendance were officers, other ranks and residents of Penanjong Garrison.

The event was presented with a religious talk on the significance of Israk Mikraj by a guest speaker from Core Curriculum Department (Jabatan Kor Korikulum) Ministry of Education, Yang Mulia Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam on the theme "Israk Mikraj Membantuk Peribadi Muslim". The ceremony end with the mass Asar prayer.

This ceremony among others aimed to reminisce the history of Israk Mikraj during the time of Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. and at the same time to strengthen closer ties among the RBAF community who work and reside within the garrison.
