TWO MINDEF & RBAF SENIOR OFFICERS
BESTOWED TITLES ON SULTAN'S BIRTHDAY

Bandar Seri Begawan, 15 July 2007 - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to bestow titles and present medals to 25 people during an Audience and Investiture ceremony at Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman, in conjunction with the monarch's 61st birthday.

The event was also attended by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah and other members of the royal family.

The ceremony began with the bestowing of "Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Kedua (DPMB)", which carries the title "Dato Paduka" to eight recipients including two senior officers from Ministry of Defence, now known as :

1. Dato Paduka Awang Hj Abdul Rashid bin Hj Abdul Rahman,
Deputy Permanent Secretary II, Ministry of Defence

2. 177 Colonel Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Azmansham bin
Pengiran Hj Mohammad @Mohamed,
Suport Services Commandant of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

This was followed by the bestowing of "Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Ketiga (SSUB)" to two recipients and 15 people were bestowed "Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Ketiga (SNB)".

Also present to witness the ceremony were foreign guests and senior officials from Asean countries and Pengiran-Pengiran Cheterias, cabinet ministers, members of councils, deputy ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Pendalaman, foreign diplomats, permanent secretaries and heads of government departments.

The event concluded with a doa selamat, read by the State Mufti.
