- Ceremonies to mark the Israk Mikraj 1428 Hijrah
celebration for the Ministry of Defence and Royal
Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) continues. Today, similar
ceremony was held at the Surau of Berakas Garrison.
Previous two events were held on 12 Aug 2007 at
Bolkiah Garrison and on 13 Aug 2007 at Tutong Camp.
The chief guest at this ceremony was Yang Mulia
Brigadier General (U) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin
Hj Saidin, Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force.
In attendance were Senior Officers, Officers, Other
Ranks and residents of Berakas Garrison.
The event was presented with a religious talk on
the significance of Israk Mikraj by a guest speaker
from Mosque Affair Department (Jabatan Hal Ehwal
Masjid), Yang Mulia Imam Hj Jufri bin Hj Hidup on
the theme "Pengajaran Israk Mikraj dan Kepentingan
Solat". The ceremony begins with mass Asar
prayer.
This ceremony among others aimed to reminisce the
history of Israk Mikraj during the time of Nabi
Muhammad S.A.W. and at the same time to strengthen
closer ties among the RBAF community within the
garrison or camp.
The
next Israk Mikraj ceremonies to be held in other
military garrisons and camps will be as follows;
15 Aug 2007 - Muara Naval Base, 16 Aug 2007 - Bangar
Camp and Pulau Baru-Baru, 17 Aug 2007 - Penanjong
Garrison, 19 Aug 2007 - Lumut Camp and Women Company.
