SERI BEGAWAN, Monday 10 Sept 2007 –
Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School emerged as the
champion in the overall All States Cadet Officer
Shooting Skills Competition for 2007, grabbing the
championship title in the Rifle Team and Metal Plate
Dropping events. While PIHM Serasa Muara Secondary
School came in second place after beating Muda Hashim
Secondary School into third place.
The four-day shooting competition,
held from 07 until 10 September at the old gallery
shooting field of Penanjong Garrison drew participations
of officer cadets from 13 schools in the sultanate
namely: Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College, Science
College Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, PIHM Serasa
Secondary School, Menglait Secondary School, Sayyidina
Hassan Secondary School, Pehin Dato Seri Maharaja
Mentiri Secondary School, Sultan Muhammad Jamalul
Alam Secondary School, Muda Hashim Secondary School,
Maktab Anthony Abell Seria College, Sayyidina Othman
Secondary School, Perdana Wazir Secondary School,
PAP Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary
School dan Sultan Hassan Bangar Secondary School.
The shooting events were divided into five categories:
Rifle Team, Snap Team, Section Team, Individual
Rifle and Metal Plate Dropping. In the Rifle Team
competition, Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School came
in first place. Runner up was Muda Hashim Secondary
School followed by PIHM Serasa Secondary School
in third place.
In the Snap Team competition, first
place was grabbed by PIHM Serasa Secondary School,
second place - Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School
while Perdana Wazir Secondary School was third place.
Meanwhile Muda Hashim Secondary
School emerged victory in the Section Team category;
PIHM Serasa Secondary School and Sayyidina Hassan
Secondary School came in second and third place
respectively.
In the Metal Plate Dropping category,
Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School emerged victorious
followed by Menglait Secondary School ‘A’
and ‘B’ respectively.
The Individual Rifle category saw
Mohd Norazlee bin Kifle from Muda Hashim Secondary
School won the Best Individual Shooter title followed
by Mohd Najib bin Md Amin from SMJA Secondary School
in second place.
The annual officer cadet shooting
competition aims to seek school team champion and
individual while at the same time to ensure a continuous
working relationship and strengthen a closer bond
among the ASMDB officer cadet, and to assess their
capabilities and skills in handling the M16 light
weapon.
The
winning prizes were awarded to the winners by the
Acting Commandant of Support Services Royal Brunei
Armed Forces, Lieutenant Col Haji Azlan bin Hj Mohd
Saji.
