Berakas, 06 October 2005 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) this afternoon held a donation handing ceremony for the RBAF orphans called " Majlis Sentuhan Kasih Ramadhan ABDB". The ceremony was held at Berakas Garrison Surau.

The donation was officially handed by the guest of honour Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof assisted by his wife, Datin Hajah Kalshom binte Haji Suhaili.

Sentuhan Kasih Ramadhan is one of the RBAF annual welfare activity organised for orphans of ex-RBAF personnel to significantly relief and celebrate the orphans for the upcoming Aidil Fitri Festival. A total of 118 orphans received the donation in the form of cash, Aidil Fitri hampers, and 2 cartons of beverages which were donated from several sources including the RBAF Welfare Fund, RBAF Individuals and the RBAF Wives Welfare Committee (BAKTI) Fund.

Compassion for the orphans has been a continuing commitment monitored annually by the RBAF. One of the prime objectives of this commitment is to reminisce with the loyal duty and good deeds of their departed parents while serving within RBAF and also to promote awareness and attention of RBAF personnel for these orphans.

This year Sentuhan Kasih Ramadhan has been hosted by the Services Force Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Also present at the ceremony were Service Commanders and Commandants, Military Directors, Officers and several members of the BAKTI Committees.
