Saturday 4 November 2006 - A parade was held
on 4th November 2006 at the Parade Square of the
Royal Brunei Land Force's (RBLF) First Battalion
in the Berakas Garrison, in conjunction with RBLF's
45th anniversary.
The
guest of honour was the Commander of RBLF, Colonel
Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pg Haji Chuchu,
who also inspected around 500 personnel from all
RBLF units, headed by Mej Hj Abd Ghani bin Haji
Abdullah, Second-In-Command of the First Battalion
RBLF. The Commander also presented certificates
of appreciation to the first and second team of
International Monitoring Team to Mindanao, Republic
of Philippines.
The
theme of this year's anniversary, "Unity Strengthen
the Nation's Defence (Bersepadu Memperkukuh Pertahanan
Negara)" emphasised the importance of unity
not only among members of the Royal Brunei Land
Force but also with other services of the Royal
Brunei Armed Forces, other security agencies and
the public. The Commander of the Royal Brunei Land
Force, in his speech, has stressed that all levels
of leadership in the Royal Brunei Land Force must
play their role to ensure their personnel are well
trained. In addition, the personnel of the Royal
Brunei Land Force were reminded to be well-disciplined
so as to gain the trust of the community. Heart
and Minds Projects will also be enhanced to maintain
rapport with the public.
The parade is one of the activities that have been
lined up in conjunction with the anniversary. Among
the events held and to be held are religious functions,
a blood donation campaign, charity project, sports
and cleaning up of the Muslim cemetery.
