RBLF EEND JOINT EXERCISE WITH SINGAPORE

Temburong, 28 June 2006. The Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) and the Singapore Army (SA) ended their 9 days Joint Exercise code name MAJU BERSAMA today. The exercise was officially closed by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces, Colonel Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu and Chief of Army, Singapore Armed Forces, Major General Desmond Kuek whom were also the chief guests in the ceremony. Both guest of honour also have the opportunity to witness the grand finale event of a battalion attack on a mock enemy setup at the closing event.

The Royal Brunei land Forces and the Singapore Army have established a long standing relationship in bilateral training and defence cooperation. Exercise MAJU BERSAMA was also aimed at sharing knowledge in warfare maneuver incorporating standard operational procedures between both forces.

Throughout the exercise, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin also visited the troops on exercise at Kampong Selangan dan Kampong Selapon in Temburong on the 26 June 2006. Some 800 soldiers and officers from the First Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces and the Singapore Army were involved in the exercise. Whilst in the sultanate, the Singapore Army personnel will also have the opportunity for recreational and sport activities with their counterpart.
