Bandar Seri Begawan, Sunday 22 October 2006 - Eleven Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel, who participated in the ASEAN plus China, Japan and Korea ((10+3) Armed Forces Military Shooting Competition held in Beijing, China. The rifle's team emerged in third place, behind Singapore and Malaysia in the overall rifle teams category.

Two of the personnel also outscored some 30 marksmen from 13 countries to gain two of the top eight positions in the individuals' category, with Lance Corporal Razali bin Tagal in second place and whilst Lance Corporal Mohd Johaidin bin Mohd Ariffin in seventh place.
