WORKING VISIT BY HIS MAJESTY TO THE
TRAINING INSTITUTE OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES

Penanjong, Tuesday 16 May 2006 - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this morning consented to a series of working visit to the Training Institute of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF)at Penanjong Garrison.

On arrival at the TI RBAF Headquarters, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (R) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Deputy Minister of Defence and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, Commander of RBAF.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive the royal salute and inspected the royal guard that comprises of 110 personnel from the 3rd Battalion. His Majesty then proceeded to the TI RBAF Headquarter for the briefing on the organizational structure of TI RBAF presented by Lt Col Haji Said bin Haji Puteh.

This was followed by His Majesty consenting to look at several locations under the TI RBAF. This included the gymnasium, School of Studies, Recruit Company, Course Company, Cook House, Military Dining Hall and the 30 meter Shooting Range.

Later, His Majesty proceeded to the Penanjong Garrison Officers' Mess for luncheon with officers of the TI RBAF. After luncheon, His Majesty consented to sign the parchment and receive a pesambah from the Commandant of TI RBAF. The visit by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the TI RBAF came to a close with a group photo session with officers of TI RBAF.

Since His Majesty's previous visit on 15 May 2000, this latest visit by His Majesty indeed marked another very important event in the history of the TI RBAF. It will be an ever lasting praise by all personnel of TI RBAF as the attention placed by His Majesty on the military affairs are not only limited to the training aspect but also the welfare of the military personnel. Hence, it will develop the armed forces aspiration to reinforce its commitment in meeting the roles of RBAF with greater integrity and of the highest quality.
