RBAF COMMANDER HANDS OVER HARI RAYA AIDIFITRI GIFTS TO 3RD CONTINGENT OF RBAF INTERNATIONAL MONITORING TEAM (IMT)
AT COTABATO CITY, MINDANAO, THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

Cotabato, Monday 16 Oct 2006- A total of ten Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel whom are presently on duty as Team Site 1 (TS1) personnel in the 3rd contingent of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Republic of Philippines, today received Hari Raya Aidilfitri gifts presented by the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof. This event was held at the resident of the TS1 RBAF IMT. Also in the delegation was the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Defence II, Haji Rashid bin Haji Abd Rahman and 9 other officers from the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.

As a token of appreciation, the Commander of RBAF also presented Hari Raya Aidilfitri gifts to the Head of Mission IMT Malaysia- His Excellency Major General Dato Md Ismail bin Ahmad Khan; Commanding General 6ID - The Honourable Brigadier General Nehimias Pajarito; Regimental Director PNP-PRO ARMM - The Honourable PC/Insp Joel Goalito; Chairman GRP-CCCH - The Honourable Brigadier General Edgardo M Gurrea; and Chairman MILF-CCCH- His Excellency Von al-Haq.

The Hari Raya Aidilfitri gifts which contained festive biscuits, dates (kurma), other dried foods and Hari Raya cards were contributed by RBAF personnel, the Welfare Body of Wives of RBAF personnel (BAKTI) members and families of the RBAF IMT personnel.

Prior to presenting the Hari Raya Aidilfitri gifts, the delegation had a closer look at the new TS1 RBAF IMT resident and mingled with the TS1 personnel as well as the special guests from the Republic of the Philippines Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). Meanwhile after the event ended, the Commander of RBAF and delegation proceeded to the IMT Headquarters to hear a presentation on the development of IMT presented by His Excellency Head of Mission.
