Aceh, Thursday, 14 September 2006 - YB Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Mohammad Yasmin Haji Umar, Deputy Defence Minister, and YDM Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi Haji Md Yussof, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, today officiated the hand over ceremony of Meunasah Al-Ikhlas prayer hall (Surau) and Asmaul Husna Childern learning facility (Tempat Pengajian Anak-Anak - TPA) respectively, located in Dusun Teupin Rambot, Kacamatan Panga, Kota Calang, Aceh.

The buildings were donated by the military personnel and staff members of Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces that will serve as a social and religious center for local community. The buildings were handed over to Bupati Aceh Jaya to be given to the respective party.

During this ceremony, YB Pehin and YDM Pehin made a social call to the local leader. The event was also witnessed by the Senior Military Officials from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and TNI as well as Brunei Darussalam participant to the Aceh Monitoring Mission of that area.

Dusun Teupin Rambot was one of the areas of responsibility given to Brunei Darussalam humanitarian deployment team after the tsunami in December 2004 and was visited by His Majesty Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam during His Majesty visit on 01 Feb 2005.
