
JAKARTA,
Thursday 09 November 2006 - The Commander of
the Royal Brunei Armed Forces YDM Pehin Datu Lailaraja
Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi
bin Haji Md Yussof, received an Honorary Pilot Wing
(First Class) from the Air Force of Indonesia's
Armed Forces (TNI-AU). Besides the award, YDM Pehin
was also made the Honorary member of the Special
Corps or KORPASKHAS.
The
presentation of the award was held at the TNI-AU
main headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta by
the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KASAU TNI),
Yang Terhormat Marshall TNI Herman Prayitno.
Before
the ceremony, YDM Pehin made a courtesy call to
Yang Terhormat Marshall TNI Dato Paduka Seri Djoko
Suyanto, Commander of Indonesia's Armed Forces at
its headquarters. Present at the courtesy call were
Chief of Staffs from the Land, Navy and Air Force.
YDM Pehin received an honour salute upon arrival
before proceeding to inspect the Guard of Honour.
YDM
Pehin was then taken by helicopter to Bandung for
the honorary member ceremony. In Bandung, he was
also given an honour salute and inspected the Guard
of Honour. The ceremony began with a display of
military skills from members of the KORPASKHAS.
Yang
Terhormat Marsma TNI Putu Sulastra, Commandant of
KORPASKHAS later led the ceremony to make YDM Pehin
the Honorary member of KORPASKHAS. Both ceremonies
were witness by TNI Chief.
YDM
Pehin is the first RBAF Commander to received such
a recognition by the TNI Special Corps. Before this
he was also made the Honorary member of the TNI
Land Forces Special Corps and the Marine Corps of
the TNI Navy.
