CLOSING CEREMONY OF BASIC MILITARY FREEFALL COURSE

RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Thursday, 28 November 2019 – 11 personnel consisting of 7 airmen from the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), 2 personnel from the Special Task Platoon (STP), Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), 1 personnel from the Special Force Regiment (SFR) and 1 personnel from the Indonesian National Military-Air Force (TNI-AU) have successfully completed Basic RBAF Military Freefall Course which was held this morning at Drop Zone of the RBAirF Rimba Air Base.

Present at the closing ceremony as the Guest of Honour was Colonel (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman, Acting Commander of the RBAirF. Also present during the ceremony were Colonel Azman bin Haji Bangkol, Chief of Staff of RBLF, Mayor (CAJ) Tinton Kurniawan, Assistance Defence Attaché of Republic of Indonesia, Commander of the Operations and Support Group of the RBAirF, Senior Officers, Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers from the RBAF.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Live-Jump Display performed by the course participant from 7000 feet above ground level and subsequently the presentation of Military Freefall badge and certificates to the participant. The ceremony was concluded with a thanksgiving prayer. The best student award was presented to 17383 Cpl Khairul Azim bin Shari from the SFR, the best freefall award was given to 52454 Sld (U) Abd Mubin bin Hj Abd Latip and the best flight award was awarded to 51567 Sld (U) Pg Md Rezuan bin Pg Suhaimi.

The five weeks course which started from 28 October 2019 until 28 November 2019 was to replace the Freefall course which was last organized in 2012. The course encompassed 2 weeks of Ground Training which covered drills, safety and emergency procedures of Military Freefall, and another 3 weeks of live jump from S70i at the Drop Zone of Training Institute RBAF and the Drop Zone of the RBAirF Rimba Air Base.
 



MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS ASAS MILITARY FREEFALL ABDB

PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Khamis, 28 Nobember 2019 – Seramai 11 anggota terdiri daripada 7 anggota dari Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), 2 anggota daripada Platun Gerak Khas (PGK) Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), 1 anggota daripada Rejimen Pasukan Khas (RPK) dan 1 anggota daripada Tentera National Indonesia-Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU) telah berjaya menamatkan Kursus Asas Military Freefall ABDB pengambilan pertama bertempat di Drop Zone Pangkalan TUDB.

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat Majlis adalah Kolonel (U) Abdul Rahman bin Hj Durahman, Pemangku Pemerintah TUDB. Turut hadir pada majlis tersebut adalah Kolonel Azman bin Haji Bangkol, Ketua Staf TDDB, Mejar (CAJ) Tinton Kurniawan, Pembantu Atase Pertahanan Republik Indonesia ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Pemerintah Kumpulan Gerakan dan Bantu TUDB, Pegawai Kanan, Pegawai-Pegawai dan Lain-Lain Peringkat ABDB.

Majlis penutup kursus ini dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah, diikuti dengan persembahan terjun payung terdiri daripada peserta-peserta kursus daripada ketinggian 7000 kaki dari paras bumi dan seterusnya penyampaian lencana freefall dan sijil kepada peserta kursus serta diakhiri dengan bacaan doa selamat. Piala ‘Penuntut Terbaik Keseluruhan’ disandang oleh 17383 Cpl Khairul Azim bin Shari daripada Rejimen Pasukan Khas, manakala Piala ‘Freefall Terbaik’ adalah 52454 Sld (U) Abd Mubin bin Hj Abd Latip dan Piala ‘Flight Terbaik’ dianugerahkan kepada 51567 Sld (U) Pg Md Rezuan bin Pg Suhaimi.

Kursus selama lima minggu yang bermula dari 28 Oktober 2019 hingga 28 Nobember 2019 ini menggantikan Kursus Terjun Bebas yang kali terakhir dikendalikan pada tahun 2012. Kursus ini merangkumi 2 minggu Ground Training bagi melatih kawad-kawad, keselamatan dan prosidur-prosidur kecemasan semasa penerjunan dan 3 minggu latihan penerjunan dari pesawat Blackhawk S70i di Drop Zone Institut Latihan ABDB dan Drop Zone Pangkalan Tentera Udara.
