Commanding Officer No.2 Wing

Lt Col (U) Awg Suhaimi bin Awg Jamali enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 7th September 1998. He was later commissioned as an officer on 4th October 1999 after completing his Initial Officer Training in United Kingdom.

In 1999 to 2001, he began his career in No. 2 Wing (formally known as Air Regiment) as a troop commander for Base Defence Squadron (now known as 236 Squadron) and was then posted to 33 Squadron (now known as 233 Squadron) also as a troop commander from 2002 to 2004. He was promoted to Captain in 2005 and also held the post as Admin Officer Regiment HQ in 2004 to 2006.

In the following years, he was appointed as Squadron Commander 38 Squadron until 2008 and then posted as Squadron Commander Base Defence Squadron until 2010. During those years, he has attended a number of courses, among them were Squadron Officer Course, Company Tactics, Advanced Infantry Officer, Specialist Diploma in Leadership (Singapore) and 63rd Battalion Tactics (Singapore). He was promoted to rank Major in 2009.

In 2010 to 2014 he assumed the SO2 A1 (Admin) post at RBAirF. He attended and completed the Command and Staff Course in 2015 and was later posted as SO2 A2. In July 2015 he was transferred to the Joint Force Headquarters as SO1 J2 for four years. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on 24th May 2017.. He then attended Executives Development Program in 2018. Starting April 2019, he became the Commanding Officer for No 2 Wing.    

He was honored with Pingat Laila Tugas in the year 2000, Pingat Puspa Emas, RBAF on 2011 and recently in July 2019 he earned the Pingat Setia Bakti.

Lt Col (U) Awg Suhaimi bin Awg Jamali is married to Faridah binti Hj Sulaiman and together they have 3 daughters and 4 sons named Dyg Norizzatul Syakirah, Awg Muhd Faizul Izzat, Awg Muhd Faizul Irshad, Norizzatul Syafiqah, Muhd Faizul Iffat, Muhd Faizul Irfan and Norizzatul Saafia Syahira.
