RBAF Hands Over 'Titian Amal' Project 1

SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday 23 May 2007 - This morning
a communal work 'Titian Amal' project 1, a community
service contribution in an official ceremony officiated
by the Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF),
Brigadier General (U) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin
Haji Saidin handed over the completion of project
to Awang Ibrahim bin Chuchu, the house owner at
No. 198, Kampung Lumapas B, Jalan Junjongan. This 'Titian Amal' project is an annual activity to commemorate the upcoming RBAF 46th Anniversary celebration. This time, the objective of the project is to help Awang Ibrahim, a senior Bruneian citizen whom has a blindness disability to rebuilt his house pillars which was damaged. Awang Ibrahim, aged 60 has a wife, Dayang Zainab binte Haji Lakim whom is 48 years old and they have four children.
The 14-days construction works which started on
26th April 2007 was completed on 23rd May 2007.
The construction of this project was undertaken
together by personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces (RBAF) with cooperation from the Department
of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture,
Youth and Sport, Road Works Department, Ministry
of Development, private agencies and individuals.
The basic cost for implementing this project was estimated at $2,400 contributed by JAPEM and private agencies. Whereas other additional infrastructural necessities were facilitated in the form of manpower, machinery and skills was generously contributed by RBAF and other individuals.
Present at the ceremony were the Director of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Datin Hajah Adinah binte Haji Osman, Deputy Service Commanders and Deputy Commandants, other Senior Officers of RBAF, and various Government and private agencies who were involved in the communal work including the Penghulu and Village Headman (Ketua Kampong) of Kampong Lumapas.
