Warmness Between His Majesty And His Late Father

His Majesty, in his maiden titah shortly after being installed as the 29th Sultan of Brunei Darussalam on 5th October 1967 pledged 'I shall endeavor to carry out the policies laid down by my father and shall always uphold peace and prosperity, and strive to maintain the good name of Brunei Darussalam'. This is evident in the close relationship between His Majesty and his late father that portrays His Majesty's commitment to follow in his father's footsteps.
