Berakas Natioanal Stadium, Wednesday 24 January 2007 - QAF FC's dream of capturing their first-ever B-League Cup was dashed when ABDB came from behind to win 3-2 in extra time with No 9 Noormasaidiarwan Md Saini scoring the winning goal at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium last night.

QAF FC led by captain Prince Abdul Qawi were two goals in front in the middle of the first half after No 7 Christopher Anak Ambun opened accounts on the 7th minute with a header from a corner by No 17 Ak Md Kamarul Ariffin Pg Ramlee.

QAF FC increased their tally to 2-0 in the 24th minute when No 20 Viban Francis Bayong scored with a header again from a corner kick delivered by Ak Md Kamarul Ariffin.

Despite the two-goal setback, ABDB didn't lose heart and continued to test the defence of QAF FC. Their efforts paid off in the 34th minute when No 3 Hj Mohd Yusof Hj Mattyassin reduced the deficit with a beautiful long range strike to make the score 2-1 until the first half whistle.

After the breather, No 21 Ito Dan of QAF FC almost got his first goal of the night but was well-saved by ABDB's goalkeeper Fardillah Hj Md Ali. ABDB managed to get the equaliser in the 64th minute when No 13 Ak Mahalie Pg Hj Sulaiman converted a spot-kick after Christopher Anak Ambun handled the ball in the penalty box.

Both teams were squared 2-2 after fulltime. In extra time, QAF FC's Riwandi Wahit almost scored but his shot went wide and Ito Dan with only the goalkeeper to beat shot wide in the 19th minute. It was not until the 28th minute of extra time, when ABDB managed to snatch the winning goal with a long-range goal from No 9 Noormasaidiarwan Md Saini.

Ali Mustappa, the coach of QAF FC was a bit disappointed with the loss and said: "Our players weren't focussing and we were make to pay."Mistakes in the defence and poor finishing let us down," he said. Major Dr Mohd Bahrin, the manager of ABDB, was pleased with his team's performance."Our players were mentally and physically fit to face the game and they follow the game plan perfectly." He also added: "We are honoured to be the first team to lift the B-League Cup."

Prizes were presented by the guest-of-honour Hj Ahmad bin Hj Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
