Bilateral Ties
BILATERAL RELATIONS
Royal Brunei Air Force is actively involved in enhancing efforts to
foster diplomatic defence relation with neighbouring countries. Some of
the initiatives organised has successfully create transparency as well
as develop mutual understanding and confidence building. Some of the
significant achievements are as follows:-
Honorary Wing Presentation
With the consent of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Brunei
Darussalam. Air Marshal from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore were
presented the Royal Brunei Air Force Honorary Wing in 2003.

Cooperation with Royal Air Force
The Royal Air Force concentrates in providing human resources specialists such as pilots and aircraft technicians.

Cooperation with Republic Indonesia Air Force.
Cooperation with the Republic Indonesia Air Force is still at an early
stage however both Air Forces has successfully organised Command Post
Exercise for Combat Search and Rescue known as 'ELANG BRUNESIA' on
September 2003.

Cooperation with United States.
In Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training or CARAT, Royal Brunei Air
Force is involved in air support, deck landing exercises on American
ships and seminar hosted by United States Navy.

Cooperation with Royal Australia Air Force.
Since 2002, the Royal Brunei Air Force has had the support of Standard
and Evaluation Team from the Australia Defence Force. At present, they
conduct evaluation on local pilots and aircrew as part of Royal Brunei
Air Force yearly activities.

Cooperation with Republic Singapore Air Force
Air Defence Exercise called the Air Guard has started since 1993. This
exercise is conducted in Singapore and involves the Air Regiment and
Air Defence Brigade. Air Gunnery Joint Exercise the Air-to-Ground
General Purpose Machine Gun firing is held twice yearly since 1999.
This exercise involves No 1 Squadron and the Helicopter Detachment in
Brunei.

Cooperation with Royal Malaysia Air Force.
In 1998, Air working group was established under the defence committe
between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. It involves both countries Air
Forces. Some of the achievements are as follows:
