His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan of Brunei also as the Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces consented to present the award 'Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (D.P.K.T)' to His Royal Highness General Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, The ceremony was held at the Officers' Mess, Penanjong Garrison in conjunction with the 43rd anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces on the 31 May 2004. The Royal Brunei Armed Forces' Anniversary celebration for this year carries a theme, 'Patriotism and Unity are the Core to National Defence Intrepidity' or 'Patriotisme dan Perpaduan Teras Keutuhan Pertahanan Negara'.
