
Deputy Permanent Secretary I
Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Hj Mohamad was born on 8
January 1960. He enlisted as Regular Officer with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces
(RBAF) on 9 November 1981 after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Electrical &
Electronic Engineering from University
of Bath, United Kingdom.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Permanent Secretary I in the Ministry of Defence on 1 November 2008, Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Azmansham was the Commandant of the Support Services RBAF since 17 Jun 2005.
During his service in the RBAF Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham has served
in various engineering officer posts in the RBAF Land Engineering units from
1982 to 1987, and staff officer appointments in the Maintenance Department, Directorate
of Logistics from 1989 to 2000, and was the Director of Logistics in the Ministry
of Defence from 2000 to 2004. He also served as the Officer Special Duties to the
Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces from 2004 to 2005.
Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham had attended various overseas courses
which include the Rapier Engineering Officer in United
Kingdom, Junior Staff in Malaysia,
RAEME Officer Advance in Australia,
and the Batallion Tactics and Command & Staff courses in Republic of Singapore.
He is a Master graduate in Defence Administration from the Royal Military
College of Science, Cranfield University, Shrivenham and is also a chartered member
of the Institute Engineering Technology (IET) of the United Kingdom.
On 15 July 2007, Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham was conferred the Most Honourable Order of Paduka Mahkota Brunei, Second Class which carries the title "Dato Paduka".
Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham is married to Pengiran Datin Hajah Masjidah bte Pengiran Haji Tengah Omar, and they are blessed with five children: Dk Siti Nadiah, Ak Muhammad Raimi, Dk Nur Khadijah, Ak Abdul Malik and Dk Nurul 'Izzati.
