Golf Tournament In Conjunction With RBAF 51st Anniversary Celebrations

BERAKAS GARISSON, Saturday 7 July 2012 – A golf tournament was held here in the RBAF Golf Club today in Berakas Garrison and last Saturday 30 June 2012 held in conjunction of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 51st Anniversary Celebrations.  The tournament, opened to club’s members and invited guests comprising of past Deputy Defence Minister, past RBAF Commanders, Defence Attaches and representatives from the Royal Brunei Police Force and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence was followed by a luncheon and prize presentation ceremony in the Club House itself. In attendance was the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat and the Commander of the RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

Shortly after the luncheon, a speech was given by the Chairman of the RBAF Anniversary Celebrations, Col (L) Haji Aznan bin Julaihi which in his speech gave an appreciation of the service of all who had served throughout the RBAF’s 51 years of establishment and the recognition of the role we play towards the security of Brunei and the region.

Lt Bishu Kumar Limbu from GRU won the Overall Nett Winner and at the same time winning the RBAF Anniversary’s Golf Trophy.  It is also worthy to note, that for the first time in the Golf Club’s recorded history were two Hole-In-Ones achieved by two of the clubs members in the same day on 30 June 2012 by Maj (R) Haji Shadon bin Haji Mohd Salleh in Hole 2 and Lt Bishu Kumar Limbu in Hole 14.  Official certificates of all the Hole-in-Ones in the last 23 years of the Club’s establishment were presented during the prize presentation ceremony.
