Command And Staff Course Begins Overseas Study Tour
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday 10 June 2012 – The Command and Staff Course (CSC) 2012 left Brunei International Airport on 10 June 2012 for South Korea and Singapore to commence a two-week Staff Ride and Overseas Study Tour. The delegation comprising 30 students is headed by Colonel Bijay Kumar Rawat, Commandant Defence Academy. Following an early start in Bandar Seri Begawan and a short stopover in Singapore, the CSC delegation arrived in Inchon International Airport on the morning of Monday 11 June 2012.
The delegation then proceeded to visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace in the Seoul city centre, which provided a rich insight of the country's historical monarchy system. A visit to the Korean Institute of Defence Analysis (KIDA) in Dongdaemun district filled the afternoon's itinerary. The CSC were treated to an exceptional introduction to regional strategic issues followed by a lengthy and intellectual discussion between the CSC delegation and research staff of KIDA. Next on the visit's itinerary whilst in South Korea will include The Inchon Landing Operations Memorial Hall in Inchon and the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) in the city of Paju, Gyeonggi province, amongst others.
