BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday 08 May 2013 - As part of the recreation program for the 7th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM), the leaders, spouses and delegation had the opportunity to explore and experience variety of culture, food and hospitality of the local community.

There was a friendly golf match involving His Excellency General Tea Banh - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Kingdom of Cambodia and the RBAF Commander, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin as well as senior officials from both sides.

ISTANA NURUL IMAN, Tuesday 7 May 2013 - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) consented to receive an audience from ASEAN Defence Ministers, Representative and the Secretary General of ASEAN. The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman this afternoon.

Present at the audience was His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and General of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

THAILAND, Tuesday 7 May 2013 - Opening Ceremony of ASEAN REGIONAL FORUM (ARF) Disaster Relief Exercise 2013 (DIREx 2013) was Co-Officiated by both  His Excellency Mr. Plodprasop – Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand and His Excellency Mr. Bong-Hyun Kim – Deputy Minister of Multilateral and Global Affairs of the Republic of Korea.  It was attended by the Heads of Delegation and participants from all the ARF Member Countries and NGOs.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday 7 May 2013 – A signing ceremony of the Brunei Darussalam Declaration of the ASEAN Defence Ministers: “Securing Our People, Our Future Together” took place this afternoon at the Indera Samudra Ballroom, The Empire Hotel and Country Club, Brunei Darussalam.

Signing the declaration were the Chairman of the 7th ADMM, The Honourable Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, and the ASEAN Defence Ministers, the Secretary General of ASEAN, and representative.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday 7 May 2013 – The 7th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting is taking place today at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, Empire Hotel and Country Club, Brunei Darussalam.

The meeting is expected to review existing ASEAN defence cooperation and consider new initiatives to support ASEAN efforts in community building in particular the ASEAN Political Security Community. The meeting is also expected to receive reports on preparations for the Second ASEAN Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Exercise (2nd AHX) and ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Humanitarian and Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise (ADMM Plus HADR/MM Ex).

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Monday 6 May 2013 – A dinner event was held this evening in honour of the leaders and delegates of the 7th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (7th ADMM). The event took place at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Brunei Darussalam.

The evening program commenced with a group photo session followed by a welcoming remark by the Chairman of the 7th ADMM, The Honourable Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Retired) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, Brunei Darussalam.

MUARA, Monday 6 May 2013 – Admiral TNI Dr. Marsetio, the Naval Staff Chief of the Indonesian Navy, Tentera Nasional Indonesia yesterday safely arrived at the Brunei International Airport for his introductory visit from 6 May 2013 until 7 May 2013. Awaiting his arrival was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) together with several of RBN’s senior officers. 

Brunei Darussalam and The Republic of Indonesia are known for its long established relationship and this visit is further proof of the countries strong ties. Upon his arrival at the Royal Brunei Navy headquarters, Admiral TNI Dr. Marsetio was accorded with a Guard of Honour exhibited by personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy.
