14 RBAF Officers Promoted
BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 24 May 2013 - With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) announced that 14 Senior Officers and 4 Officers have been consented to be promoted. The promotion ceremony took place this morning at the Officers' Mess Bolkiah Garrison.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Contract Signing Ceremony Between MinDef and Contractors

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 24th March 2013 – A Contract Signing Ceremony was held today at the Officers’ Mess Bolkiah Garrison between Ministry of Defence and contractors of various projects. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was YM DatoPadukaHjMustappa bin HjSirat, Deputy Minister of Defence. The ceremony was also attended by Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AminuddinIhsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya SaifulMulokDato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin – Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces and members of the Defence Executive Committee. The Director and staff of Directorate of Development and Work Services, Consultants and Contractors also attended the ceremony.
10th ASEAN Regional Forum Security Policy Conference
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 23 May 2013 – Brunei Darussalam today hosted the ARF Security Policy Conference (ASPC) at the Empire Hotel and Country Club, Jerudong, Brunei Darussalam. The Conference was chaired by Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad, Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy & Development), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.
The primary objectives of the ASPC are to further strengthen the cooperation of confidence building measures in military spheres within the framework of the ARF and the participation of defence officials in the ARF; to open new channels of dialogue and exchanges among defence officials, diplomats as well as military academicians, to further increase mutual trust and understanding among the defence officials; and to further improve and substantiate the process of the ARF and keep propelling it forward.
RBAF Presents Donation From Charity Walkathon To Local NGOS
BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 23 May 2013 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) presented donation cheques to five local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in commemoration of the RBAF anniversary held at the Officers Mess, Bolkiah Garrison in the Ministry of Defence this morning.
The cheques were presented by the guest of honour, the Commander of the RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin to the NGOs, Dana Pengiran Muda Pengiran Haji Al Muhtadee Billah, Pusat Ehsan, Al Ameerah Al Hajjah Mariam, Persatuan KACA, Smarter Brunei and Learning Ladders Society.
RBAF Planted 520 Tree Saplings
BERAKAS, Wednesday, 22 May 2011 – Fourty-four military personnel and civilian staff of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) took part in the “Green Wave’ project by planting 520 tree saplings named “Acacia Sea” at the Berakas Forest Reserve area today to mark the International Day for Biological Diversity.
The Green Wave project is designed to support the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity that is to promote, educate and raise awareness about the conservation and restoration of plants, animals and water.
Asean Regional Forum Defence Officials' Dialogue

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday, 21 May 2013 - The ASEAN Regional Forum Defence Officials’ Dialogue (ARF DOD) was held on 21 May 2013 at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Hotel and Country Club, Jerudong. The ARF DOD was chaired by Haji Adi Ihram bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Acting Director Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam. It was attended by senior officials from the ARF members.
The theme of the Dialogue was “The Impact of Social Media on Defence and Security.” The Dialogue acknowledged the benefits of the social media in terms of sharing information, creating awareness and engaging the public. However, the use of social media also created concern on abuse and disclosure of irrelevant and sensitive information and displays.
255 Pints of Blood Collected in Campaign
RIMBA, Tuesday 21 May 2013 – The blood donation campaign to commemorate the 52 Royal Brunei Armed Forces Anniversary Celebration continued today at Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Camp, Rimba, Gadong involving 40 personnel from the Military Police Headquarters and Royal Brunei Malay Reserve.
Eversince the campaign started, the RBAF has successfully accumulated 255 pints of blood.The campaign has also been extended to all units under the RBAF at all military camps. The blood donation campaign aims to render support and illustrate RBAF concern towards the local community in contributing to the national blood bank. It also serves to instill the charitable attribute in each of the military personnel that donating one unit of blood would save lives.
