BRUNEI DARUSSALAM OFFERS HUMANITARIAN AID CONTRIBUTIONS TO MALAYSIA FIELD HOSPITAL IN COX’S BAZAR, BANGLADESH

COX’S BAZAR, BANGLADESH, Thursday, 12 July 2018 – Her Excellency Hajah Masurai binti Haji Masri, Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner to Bangladesh has handed over Brunei Darussalam’s humanitarian aid for the Malaysian Field Hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh to The Honourable Tuan Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Minister of Defence of Malaysia during a visit to the Field Hospital, made in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Brunei Darussalam has contributed 2 units of water filtration plant and 1 power generator 60KVA to deliver clean water to the Field Hospital.

The Field Hospital at Cox’s Bazar was set up by the Government of Malaysia near the refugee camps in Kutupalong and Balukhali areas and had commenced its operations on 3 December 2017. The hospital is fully-equipped with medical facilities that are comparable to those in specialist hospitals.

Brunei Darussalam’s contributions to the Malaysian Field Hospital underscore the calls by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in providing humanitarian assistance to the affected communities in Cox’s Bazar. This contribution is also a testament to the close bilateral defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding of Defence Cooperation in the year 1992.

PENYERAHAN SUMBANGAN BANTUAN KEMANUSIAAN NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM BAGI HOSPITAL MEDAN KERAJAAN MALAYSIA DI COX’S BAZAR, BANGLADESH

COX’S BAZAR, BANGLADESH, Khamis, 12 Julai 2018 – Puan Yang Terutama Hajah Masurai binti Haji Masri, Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Negara Brunei Darussalam ke Bangladesh telah menyerahkan sumbangan bantuan kemanusiaan Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi Hospital Medan Kerajaan Malaysia di Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh kepada Yang Berhormat Tuan Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Menteri Pertahanan Malaysia semasa lawatan sempena aidilfitri Yang Berhormat ke Hospital Medan pada 12 Julai 2018. Sumbangan bantuan kemanusiaan Negara Brunei Darussalam adalah berupa 2 unit loji tapisan air dan 1 unit penjana kuasa 60KVA untuk mengalirkan sumber air bersih ke Hospital Medan berkenaan.

Hospital Medan di Cox’s Bazar telah ditubuhkan oleh Kerajaan Malaysia berdekatan dengan kem-kem pelarian di kawasan Kutupalong dan Balukhali dan telah mula beroperasi pada 3 Disember 2017. Hospital Medan tersebut merupakan hospital yang lengkap disediakan dengan kemudahan perkhidmatan kesihatan dan perubatan yang sebanding dengan hospital pakar.

Sumbangan bantuan kemanusiaan Negara Brunei Darussalam adalah bagi menyahut seruan Titah Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam untuk menghulurkan bantuan-bantuan kemanusiaan kepada pihak-pihak yang memerlukan di Cox’s Bazar. Sumbangan juga adalah komitmen hubungan dua hala pertahanan yang rapat sejak Memorandum Persefahaman kerjasama pertahanan di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Malaysia yang telah ditandatangani pada tahun 1992.
