GOODWILL PORT VISIT BY PEOPLE’S LIBERATION ARMY - NAVY

MUARA, Tuesday, 26 September 2017 – The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy ships, CNS CHANG CHUN, CNS JING ZHOU and CNS CHAO HU are in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day visit from 25 to 27 September. Brunei Darussalam is the 18th country they have visited so far, since they began their voyage from Shanghai on 23 April 2017.

The Chinese fleet is commanded by Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Commander-In-Chief of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Task Group 150 and the Deputy Commander of Eastern Theater Command of the PLA Navy, People’s Republic of China.

The PLA-N will conduct a bilateral Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with KDB DARUSSALAM, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 27 September 2017. The PASSEX will see the navy ships participating in communication drills and manoeuvring exercises which are aimed at enhancing interoperability between the two navies. Moreover, the conduct of the PASSEX underscores the growing defence and military relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China. Both countries also interact regularly through high-level visits and exchanges among personnel at all levels.

Last night, First Admiral (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence attended a reception hosted by the PLA-N onboard the CNS CHANG CHUN as the Guest of Honour.

Also present were Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of the RBAF; Captain (Retired) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, RBN, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence; Service Commanders; as well as other senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.

During this visit, RBN and PLA-N will also participate in various professional exchanges, in addition to sport interactions, that will enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two navies.

Following this visit, the Chinese fleet will be making its next port call at the Sihanouk Ville Autonomous Port, Cambodia.






LAWATAN MUHIBBAH PEOPLE’S LIBERATION ARMY (PLA) NAVY

MUARA, Selasa, 26 September 2017 – Kapal PLA-Navy CNS CHANG CHUN, CNS JING ZHOU dan CNS CHAO HU sedang berada di Negara Brunei Darussalam untuk membuat lawatan muhibah selama tiga hari yang bermula dari 25 ke 27 September 2017.

Negara Brunei Darussalam adalah merupakan perlabuhan mereka yang ke-18, di mana mereka memulakan pelayaran pada 23 April 2017 dari Shanghai. Pelayaran ini diketuai oleh Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Commander-In-Chief of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Task Group 150 dan the Deputy Commander of Eastern Theater Command of the PLA Navy, Republik Rakyat China.

Kapal-kapal PLA-N akan mengadakan Latihan Passage (PASSEX) dengan KDB DARUSSALAM, yang dijadualkan pada 27 September 2017. Kapal-kapal Tentera akan mengambil bahagian dalam latihan komunikasi dan latihan bergerak yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan interoperabiliti di antara kedua-dua angkatan laut.

Perlaksanaan PASSEX juga mengariskan hubungan pertahanan dan ketenteraan yang semakin meningkat antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Rakyat China. Kedua-dua negara juga berinteraksi secara kerap melalui lawatan peringkat tinggi dan pertukaran kakitangan di semua peringkat.

Sehubungan dengan itu, majlis resepsi telah diadakan semalam di kapal CNS CHANG CHUN dan dihadiri oleh Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan sebagai Tetamu Kehormat.

Turut hadir ialah Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Pemerintah ABDB; Kepten (B) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, TLDB, Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan; Pemerintah-Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera serta pegawai-pegawai kanan dan pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.

Semasa lawatan ini, TLDB dan PLA-N juga akan mengadakan pelbagai pertukaran profesional, serta interaksi sukan yang akan meningkatkan pemahaman dan persahabatan di antara kedua-dua angkatan laut.

Berikutan lawatan ini, PLA-N akan membuat lawatan pelabuhan di Pelabuhan Sihanaok Ville Autonomous di Kemboja.
