SINGAPORE, Thursday, 18 May 2017 – The Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam, Captain (Retired) Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh is currently in the Republic of Singapore attending the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia from 16 to 18 May 2017. The event was officially launched by the Minister for Defence of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Ng Eng Hen.
The visit underscores the strong defence ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore.
During the visit, the Deputy Permanent Secretary also attended the 3rd International Naval Engineering Conference (INEC) held concurrently at IMDEX Asia with the Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) and Permanent Secretary (Smart Nation and Digital Government), Mr. Ng Chee Khern as the guest of honour.
He also visited the Republic of Singapore’s new next generation of Littoral Mission Vessels and featured the latest trends and technological developments in the defence industry.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Deputy Permanent Secretary made separate courtesy calls to the Deputy Secretary (Technology), Ministry of Defence Singapore, Mr. David Koh Tee Hian; Chief Executive of the Defence Science and Technology Agency, Mr. Tan Peng Yam; and Co-Chairman of the Joint Defence Working Group between Brunei Darussalam and France, IGA Jacques Cousquer.
