Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness General Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, General RBAF and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
Shortly after the arrival at the parade square, His Majesty was accorded the Royal Salute before His Majesty consented to inspect the guard of honour lined up on the field. The guard of honour which comprised of 1,449 personnel from various RBAF units that includes Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (TUDB), Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF), Women Military Personnel and the Special Force Regiment (SFR) were commanded by the Parade Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Ismaon bin Hj Zainie.
His Majesty then consented to deliver a Titah inconjunction with the 49th RBAF anniversary celebration. Following the royal address, a Doa Selamat was read by the Head of RBAF Religious Department (JA’MAAT) Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Abdur’ Rahim bin Haji Abd Karim.
After the parade event, His Majesty proceed to static displays. The static displays were presented by the Royal Brunei Air Force (TUDB), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Special Force Regiment. A display of archery shooting and horse riding was also displayed at the football A and B.
From the static displays, His Majesty proceeded to meet with personnel at the Warrant Officer/Staff Sergeant/Sergeant Mess. Here, His Majesty and His Royal Highness both received ‘pesambah’ and took a group photograph. His Majesty then received a ‘junjung ziarah’ from the RBAF Non-Commissioning Officers and signed the Royal Parchment prior to leaving the mess.
From the Warrant Officer/Staff Sergeant/Sergeant Mess, His Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses were taken to the Company Recruit Building of the TI RBAF and the Military Performance Optimisation Centre (POC) for another array of static displays. This was later followed with the final static display by the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) at the Infantry School.
After viewing the static displays, His Majesty and Their Royal Highness proceeded to the Lower Ranks Club/ TI RBAF Library for the ‘junjung ziarah’ with other ranks personnel. His Majesty and His Royal Highness were presented with another ‘pesambah’ and a group photograph session. His Majesty then received a ‘junjung ziarah’ from the RBAF Other Rank Personnel and later signed the Royal Parchment.
His Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses also had the opportunity to witness a number of activities at the Blue Tower such as Rock Climbing, Flying Fox, Abseiling and Roping by the RBLF personnel and the POC Physical Trainers before going to the Penanjong Officers’ Mess.
While at the Penanjong Garrison Officers’ Mess, His Majesty and Their Royal Highness were presented a ‘santap’ with the Ministry of Defence, RBAF officials and retired Commanders of RBAF. His Majesty also consented to cut the 49th RBAF Anniversary cake after which both His Majesty and His Royal Highness consented to receive Pesambah.
After the ‘Doa Selamat’ was read by the Head of JA’MAAT prior to the ‘santap’, His Majesty was introduced to senior officers who are currently undertaking the 7th series of Ministry of Defence Executive Development Programme (EDP). This year’s EDP is attended by senior military officers from RBAF, senior civilian officers from Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Ministry of Health, as well as a first time participant of a senior officer from The Sultanate of Oman.
After the ‘santap’ His Majesty and His Royal Highness consented to receive a ‘junjung ziarah’ with the in-service and retired RBAF officers. Before leaving the event, His Majesty and His Royal Highness signed the Royal Parchments and a took a group photograph with senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
